We are so proud, that in 2011, most of our shops are plastic bag free(3 years after launching our campaign)and that our customers continue to bring in their own shopping bags to collect their goods. We get emails from all over the world congratulating us on our achievement and asking how their town can do the same!

Boasting accessibility and free car parking, Aylsham has every reason to be the bustling, thriving market town that so many people wish to see continue and develop, retaining that old-fashioned Norfolk charm.

There is a great sense of community in Aylsham, especially on Mondays when the Market Place is filled with a kaleidoscope of stalls offering their wares, with people mingling and chatting. The Auction Rooms also buzz with atmosphere. There is a thriving Farmers Market once a month where fresh, local produce is offered for sale.

Aylsham has Cittaslow status celebrating the distinctive and special quality of life here, and ensuring it is protected and preserved for this and future generations.
